Torild Wardenær, Norwegian author and poet. She had her debut in 1994 with I Pionertiden (In the Pioner Era), followed by eleven critically acclaimed poetry collections, the latest being Velde (Dominion) in 2020 and Ex jordisk (Ex Mundi) in 2024. She has also written dramas and translated poetry, and her own work has been translated into English, German and French, among other languages. Her work has been incorporated into interdisciplinary projects with musicians and visual artists, and she has been invited to international literature events in Europe and in the United States. Wardenær has a Masters Degree in Contemporary Literature. She also has a creative writing degree and pedagogical education. She has taught creative writing at several Norwegian colleges. Among the literary prizes, scholarships, and nominations she has received during her career, Wardenær was awarded the prestigious Dobloug Prize from the Swedish Academy in 2014. In 2015, the Bavarian Minister of Culture invited her for an annual stay at the International Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia in Bamberg, Germany.
